"The system files are corrupt"

Yesterday, i softmodded my Wii (at least tried). Everything was working fine, but then i decided to install USB Loader GX. I had no experience whatsoever with hacking the Wii, so i followed some tutorials on youtube. Most of the videos were 2+ years old, and the download links were dead. So i googled the filenames, and found them hosted on other sites. But i think i managed to install software for a Wii U instead, and now my wii is semi-bricked. I can't access the wii menu, but i luckily installed Priiloader before it bricked. Whenever i start the Wii, i get this error message "The system files are corrupted. Please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." At least that is what i can read, because the screen looks corrupted too. Attachment 4941However, i AM able to boot into priiloader and start the homebrew channel. is there any way of getting the Wii system menu back? By the way the firmware WAS 4.3E.

Hi All,

Im new in this forum, my wii is BRICKED and when I turn it on, it shows nothing but a black screen..

I tried to fix my white wii (the old one you can plug the gamecube controllers), using a gamecube controller in port 4 (I opened it and pressed all the d-pad directions at once using a ruler over the rubber of the d-pad)..

IMG-20150620-WA0007.jpg

IMG-20150620-WA0005.jpg

As you guys can see, the screen shows the wii version in the bottom right corner of the screen, 4.3 (USA). I tried to put the New Super Mario Bross to try to fix automatically the Wii, but it doesn't work. I just downloaded the Auto-BootBlind v2.0 usa and I will try it.

Also I tried the SD-CARD method and it doen't boot from SD-CARD..

Can u guys help me? What I'm doing wrong? Can I fix my Wii?

Thank you!

no signal error on wii

Hi everyone.

I am rewriting this to make the situation more clear. I have been living mostly out of the country and not used my Wii for some time.

Things I know:
1) I used the softmod any wii guide to hack my wii.
2) I have priiloader installed. Information is: IOS v60 , systemmenu v449, priiloader v 0.7 (r138)
3) I have Bootmi files and Nand in a folder on my PC hard drive.

Setup:

I was using GX Loader with my USB hard drive to run Wii games.

Current situation:

I am generally getting a "no signal" message when I boot my wii.

Now and then I have had other things happen:
- A few times I got the gray "Wii" screen then nothing.
- One time I got this message: ""The System files are corrupted. Please refer to your manual."

I have found out that I CAN access the Priiloader menu by pressing "reset" at start up -- but only if my USB drive is not connected to the Wii. If the USB drive is connected, I just get stuck with the "no signal" screen. One time with USD HD connected I did get the menu, but it was garbled. And then it disappeared and I saw the message:
EXCEPTION (ISI) OCCURED. some code on the screen and the message "STACK DUMP: reload."

If from Priiloader I try to access "system menu" I run into a problem. Either the system menu loads and then freezes. Or else I just get the gray "Wii" sreen.

What I am trying to figure out: what steps should I take now, once I am at the Priiloader menu, to fix the "no signal" error and access my system again? Are there files I need to resinstall? Can I/should I reinstall the system menu, and if so, how do I do that?

Thanks for your help!

Problems creating a SwapDisc method.

Hi so I am here for some guidance as I just can't figure it out. Cut it short :

1) My first SwapDisc physical disc is OK for few year until recently. Need to create a new SwapDisc
2) Dump my SSBB PAL into .bin (4 files of .bin) with a total of 7.92GB (8,511,160,320 bytes) and dump my other swap disc game as well. 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes)
3) When I use the MS Dos prompt it just shows "can't open file. Error #24"

4) The instruction on Mauifrog tuts about creating a folder of /003 just making me headache. It is just impossible to create a /003 folder on my desktop.

So my question is :

1) How to merge the .bin file and make it into image file?
2) How do I use SwapDisc.bat properly (step-by-step method would be appreciated)
3) How do I know if I dump my SSBB-PAL is a real 1:1 dump.

Apology for all these questions. Age catch me up and I just can't recall how to create the disc back then. Thanks.

Wii Crashing when plugging in GCC

Hi guys,

A couple of years ago I softmodded my cousins wii.
He went to a party and some unknown person disc updated the wii.

After that nothing worked anymore.

I tried to fix that a couple years ago and I thought just to softmod it again may fix it.
I didnt do my homework and was kinda in a hurry.

So after that it could play backuped games from a hdd again.
But when someone tried to plugin a ggc the wii went completely off.
You have to unplug it from the power supply for something like 5 minutes before it would turn on again.

Now i tried it again. red alot of topics on this forum trying to find out what kind of brick it would be.
I didnt succeed. So i just thought to try your softmod any wii guide. So i did that yesterday but it didnt fix anything.
I though it may work because it would overwrite any old stuff.

I tried the gcc on multiple wii's it wont crash any other wii only the one from my cousins.

some extra info:

Its a pal wii.
Its on 4.1E after the softmod any wii guide I followed.
Bootmii is installed on boot2

I hope one of you guys could maybe help me.
Thnx in advance.

Frequent "The System Files Are Corrupted" Message

$

Hello. Friends of mine bought a used Wii a while back (at least over a year ago) and it had worked fine until recently when they started getting the message "The System Files Are Corrupted" when trying to access Netflix and many other areas. They asked if I could help fix it for them.

I have determined that it had been homebrewed using Return of the Jodi (there are a bunch of save files from the previous owner, one of which is Return of the Jodi).

They don't care about having Homebrew installed and would be fine with getting it back to factory defaults. I have done a lot of reading on the subject but am still unsure how to fix this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The Wii boots up to the normal system menu (4.1 USA). I can put in a disc and play a game. Attempting to access the system settings terminates in "The System Files Are Corrupted" so I can't put in my WiFi info. I took some video (cutting out the reboots):

On the rare times when I can actually enter the Wii Options without it giving me the error message, I can access the Data Management section but am unable to delete Save Data or Channels. It tries but then always returns with the message "The Data May Not Have Been Erased". Here is a video of that:

In the video when I attempt to delete one of the mystery question mark channels it says "The Data May Not Have Been Erased", but the next time I booted to the System Menu I noticed the Netflix channel was gone so it may have successfully deleted.

I get the "The System Files Are Corrupted" message when I press A on the Homebrew Channel but I can get to priiloader by holding the reset button then powering on the Wii, and from there I can launch the Homebrew Channel. I put Syscheck v2.1.0 Beta 19 on an SD card and ran it. This is the result:

Used wii soft modded

Hey guys,
I recently bought a used wii from someone and it seems like it is modded. When I turn on the wii it goes directly to Wii menu, but if I hold reset button, it bring me to priiloader. On the priiloader screen there are the usual options, like HBC, BootMii IOS, Launch Titles etc. The screen of the priiloader is black and it says "IOS v80 system menu v513 priiloader v0.8.1 (r0x03dd451c)". When I click HBC, I get "error autobooting HBC, maybe title not installed?" and when I click BootMii IOS, it says could not mount SD card. Furthermore, there are options like, Installed file, load/Install file, System Menu hacks, check for update, set password, and settings on the priiloader screen. When I click load/install file, it says no FAT found, and when I click System Menu hacks, it says "failed to mount FAT device. Cant find hacks_hash.ini on NAND. I want to eventually hack the wii and play free games but I was told I need MAC address. However the MAC address is inaccessible because previous owner changed the background through hacking and the lighting of the background is blocking the MAC address. I was hoping to update the wii through nintendo, and deleting all the previous modification and then doing it all over again. However, I am kind of lost as to what I should do right now because I cannot unblock wii updates in priiloader because there is no hacks_hash.ini. I am not very good with all of this, and would really appreciate if u guys can help me out. Thanks!

Hackmii installer, suck it

i copied the stuff to the SD card and ran the exe. i kept getting error 53, so i copied /private from letterbomb to the sd card.

CASPER starts to run then exits back to the system menu, hackmii never loads or gives me the chance to make a NAND backup.

would formatting the wii's memory work, or re updating the sysmenu somehow?

Boots to black or games freeze

I've followed the hack tutorial successfully a few times and have the same issue. I can get to the main screen but takes quite a few restarts. And when successful, a few wads which get the most use, freeze after a few minutes playing.

Is there something I have missed? Should I factory reset and start from fresh? I'm running 4.1 as well.

Thanks in advance

it just stays like that

I don't know what happened to my wii.

Here it goes.

I by mistake backed up my Nand with priiloader. it had a like 4 bad blocks but the whole process finished with no problems. then i played some zelda twilight (wii version) from USB Loader GX. i turned off the console (it wasn't saving when i did) and the green light stayed on, i went out for a walk and when i came back the green light was still on so i unplugged the wii. now when i turn on the wii the blue light stays on, nothing shows in the screen, the fan doesn't turn on, no sounds from the wii, i removed the battery from my wii and now from red the light turned yellow. but the problem is the same. I don't know if a module died, or my wii completely fried?

(also i would like to mention that the CD reader didn't work before this problem happened)

Please help me! Bricked Wii!

Hi! I recently watched a video to install wii game wads to the wii system menu. I did that with Wad Manager. Everything worked out good... until I went to the system menu. I tried resetting, nothing it worked. I didn't install preloader or priiloader at the time because I never thought I would be this stupid. To break it down for you, whenever I start my wii, I get the health and safety screen, and I can press A. After this it starts the system menu music and then it fades away, leaving a black screen. My Wii system version is 4.3U. Is there a way to fix it?

Black screen upon startup but BootMii still works

I have a Wii that I bought at launch back in 2006. It was soft-modded using the Letterbomb guide back in 2013 to install the Homebrew Channel and it was working fine. I turned it on yesterday for the first time in a couple years and I got a black screen. I also noticed that the drive would flash blue (hard on and off, not a gentle flash like an update) if the sd card was left in on startup.

I backed up the sd card and started going through the recovery steps listed in this guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/showthread.php?t=60362 Luckily BootMii still works. I got stuck at the step where the settings.txt file could not be read (maybe a bad SD card?) I backed up the NAND and tried restoring using the backup I made back in 2013 before I went through the Letterbomb guide. There were some back blocks (not sure if these were there back in 2013) but it appeared to install correctly. I restarted and still no luck starting up without the sd card or launching Wii Menu or Homebrew Channel from BootMii.

Where do I go from here? Thanks in advance.
