Hey there, Newb here to the wii modding scene, I just followed one of your guides on this site and got an error when I was trying to install the prillloader with the motionplus, And My wii froze while I was trying to get this loader to install, So I turn off the wii and what do you know, my Wii is now, I think bricked. Now I've been searching for hours: What I do know is my wii turns on, and I can hear the disk drive boot up, but have the black screen of death. I remember loading hbc, and bootmii as an ios since I couldn't do it as boot2. I made a nand backup and have it all saved. What are my options to fix this? I have read a few tutorials and have had no luck. I've read that I can use a nand formatter if I have bootmii installed as an ios (although not recommended), and I've tried it, but no avail. I load everything onto my sd 2g card and start the wii, with nothing showing, What am I doing wrong, and what other information can I give anyone to help me!

HELP - I think I bricked my kids WII
Not sure what I did. There was a problem with the power cord, and it was replaced, tried to turn on the WII and now have a blank screen. Only removed and replaced the little 2032 battery, but nothing installed, np programs, themes or anything like that. Only changes that were made to it was changing the internet IP address to get Netflix US in Canada, thats it. Tried holding the reset button while turning it on and nothing happens.

Korean Wii Bricked (Green and Pink)
Recovery Menu says 3.4K. Tried MMM KOR 60 zip burn in DVD-R but no go. The disc just spin then stop. I don't know the history of the wii or how it was modified coz a friend just gave it to me. I suspect they tried to convert it to US and failed. It has d2sun modchip and I set it to boot both K and US but no joy. Do you think this is for the bin?

4.3U, Banner Brick, Boot/IOS, No Prii, DO have backup.
A banner brick caused by a buggy WiiGSC WAD. Can go to the Health screen, no further. Thought I had Priiloader installed, but it either failed to install or it got overlooked, and it is not a model that can do BootMii via boot2. I have attempted to use SaveMiiFrii using a burned recovery disc (I'm pretty confident I installed some sort of backup-enabling system), but this is probably a model where burned discs cannot be read, and there don't appear to be any places to get the discs pressed. My only saving grace is that before all this havoc began, I DID use BootMii IOS to back up the NAND. However, at this stage it seems I don't have the capacity to reach BootMii, the HBC, WAD Manager, or any other means to take the offending WAD off. Am I correct in assuming that this is one that will have to have some hardware work done (NAND reflash, drivechip installed, et al) or do I still have nondestructive options? PS. If it comes down to opening the Wii up, I'm wondering if most prudent course of action would be to get a DriveKey (moderately priced with relatively low installation difficulty--I've had to transplant 1.8" HDD with the same types of ribbon cables, so I'm familiar with how they work). A serial check tells me my drive CAN do backups, but I did not have DARKCORP installed, so it currently can't do it. I also have a second Wii I could use to program a DriveKey to perform autobooting. Having a copy of SSBB, could I program a DriveKey to autoboot the retail disc and use that to perform a Smash Stack, enabling me to get into BootMii?

Black screen of Death, BootMii on Boot2, NAND restore didn't help!
I hate to do this, for I am a champion lurker, but I have to create a new thread. I think I have finally reached the limits of my google-fu and it is probably better to start a new thread rather than to glean bits and pieces of information from guides that may or may not apply to my situation.
My situation:
A couple days ago I heard it was possible to softmod my Wii, so I found Maui's genius guide here (much thanks to him!) and I followed it.
I have a launch Wii, so I was able to install BootMii on Boot2 and made a NAND backup and installed priiloader and all that good stuff.
Life was good. For a day.
Then the power breaker popped while I was playing a scrubbed and converted to wbfs backup of my Mario Galaxy 2 disk from a fat32 drive. ( Not sure if this information is relevant, this is the first time I did this stuff, maybe I did it badly? But I am normally pretty good at following directions. )
Wii stayed at red light no matter what, some googling told me it was the power adapter. TWIST it's a knock-off european adapter to allow my USA Wii to run on exotic european voltages. I threw it away, bought a transformer, and plugged my original adapter in.
Then the Wii would go from the red light and power up, flashing blue light of the disk tray, disk spinning, light turns green, all good, NO DICE I got the black screen of DOOM. Wiimotes don't work so I try and sync them, but I think this made them LOSE their sync. Imma genius.
Remember I can boot into priiloader by holding reset, which I do, and I see life from the wii, the priiloader comes up bright as day.
But my wiimotes don't work. I don't have a GC controller. I am about to go out and buy one, when some crafty googling reminds me of BootMii and how it doesn't need a remote to restore my backup. So I slap the backup back onto the SD, slam it into the Wii, and BootMii up.
I go to restore, and restore. I cross my fingers and reboot.
Still black screen.
I curse profanely. How is this possible? I mean, this is a previous version of my Wii back when everything worked perfectly! How can it not work?
Oh. Maybe my hardware is screwed. Damn off-brand power supply.
Problem with that is that BootMii displays fine, just as expected, and even the HB channel looks great, displaying all those loader channels from Maui's guide perfectly. If I had a GC controller I could click on them and see if they work (I hope? You can use a GCC right?), only I am not sure it's worth spending the extra dough to get one with my wii seemingly a lost cause.
Oh, and like a genius, now that I've restored my NAND to a point BEFORE I installed priiloader, I don't have that anymore.

So give it to me straight oh wii hacking geniuses, how screwed is this Wii? Should I shell out for a GC controller? Why didn't the backup restoration fix my problem? Maybe boot3 chip is fried? I have been lurking for days so I barely know what boot3 means. Could I still run games from a HD through the loaders in the HB channel in BootMii?

Wii Semi-Brick 4.3U GUIDE?
Greetz! I have a Semi-Bricked Wii (NO ACCESS TO SYSTEM SETTINGS) the Wii currently has 4.3U on it. I have HBC, Prii, Bootmii as boot2, and NAND etc backed up. I've seen guides for recovery for other versions but I am having trouble finding one for this issue. If someone could please point the way to a guide I can use that addresses this I would be sooo thankful. I suspect the Semi-Brick is due to an updated from another region being applied based on what I've read around here.
I did find this Sticky in this Sub-Forum but I'm not sure It will work for me since I'm already on 4.3U

Black screen/system menu will not load HELP PLEASE Wii SYSMENU 4.1U
I have an old white wii that i purchased hacked and i have a sd card and a usb hard drive on it.... It stopped working after a while and i started learning about what the names of the wii hacks are... I looked and it says i have a Bootmii v1.2 stub v1.3 mini 0.3 SYS MENU 4.1U boot1b boot2v4 (got this info from bootmii)
**note** I cannot use my wii remotes becasue they refuse to sync.. i heard it can only sync from a game or the menu... not homebrew.. so i am stuck using a gamecube controller..*** how do i get a working system menu again? Any other info anyone needs to help fix this problem?

I'm new and need a bit of help...
Ok. Let me start off with saying that I have come to this forum for some advice. (I really hope this is the right thread to post this) I have had my wii Soft modded for about 6 months and had no problems. Recently, I wanted to install a wad file, a menu wad. The guy on the forum said it worked for 4.3u and all you had to do was go into the wad manager and install, of course this was not the case. I installed, it froze (the wii), I shut the system off and waited. When I booted up priiloader came on and in the corner it said SYSTEM MENU BOOT FAILED! Or some scary message like that. Idiotic me, went into homebrew and uninstalled the wad WITHOUT anytitledeleter. After I restarted my wii and I had the feared black screen. Priiloader would not load up, I tried the GC port #4 un-brick and it didn't work. ANY HELP?
Note: When I booted the 3rd time the SD Card was not in the wii, is that a problem? PLEASE REPLY SOON!!!:(:confused:

Bricked wii with 003 error
I have purchased a wii that was already soft modded back in 2009 and i was able to play burned games on DVD through the custom loader. but then I bricked my wii with error 003, and to fix i read in the other guide that i need a modchipped wii. so i disassembled the wii to find out that there is no small chip on the DVD drive, and there is no D3 writing on the big chip which i read somewhere else that this pattern refers to D3-2 drive. So how was I able to play burned games? and more importantly, will I be able to hardmod it with say Wiikey Fusion and unbrick it?

Peculiar Brick Situation
This is a bit of a cross-post with GBATemp, but I figured I'd increase my chances of finding an answer by posting here. :)
So here's my situation. A couple years ago, I bricked my Wii very badly. I tried many different things, but in the end, I formatted my system, set it aside, and just purchased a new Wii (and left it untouched and unmodded).
As a hobby project, I decided that I want to try and bring it back from the last Bootmii backup I did after the brick, perhaps at least one more time. Admittedly I didn't give enough information to solve anything two years ago, so I'm set to change that (I apologize if it's perhaps too much information!)
Alright. So, my problem is that the system will not boot into the system menu. I see the Health & Safety screen, but the 'Press A Button' prompt does not show up. This happened immediately following the removal of Priiloader.
Sorta. When I tried to remove Priiloader, it froze on the 'no password found', which is normal I know, but it never rebooted. Another detail is that I had the disc channel movable hack on, and moved it; THEN disabled my hacks, and uninstalled (kinda, as mentioned) Priiloader. Right now, that's the state the console is in. Priiloader is technically removed, my softmods are all there (Bootmii is obviously present, Homebrew Channel, etc), I just cannot advance past the Health & Safety screen. The Bluetooth module is fine, as my controller pairs fine.
What I tried and tried and tried again: reinstalling the system menu (I was at Waninkoko's 4.3 [a bad, bad choice]), but each and every time it freezes at either part 2/9, content #151 (if installing through a WAD manager) or just freezing while attempting it through DOP-Mii or MMM. Reinstalling Priiloader does not work, and makes it black screen. Trying to uninstall it again makes it fully blackscreen.
Another thing I tried recently was StartPatch, just to see a few things. The Priiloader-esque hacks had no effect; skipping health and safety just has the moving, fading Wii icons (usually when you load the system menu). Finally, when I use NandClean, it freezes when trying to remove the Priiloader settings file.
It would make my year if somebody could help me. I'm getting a Wii U and all of my old WW and VC games are still lost (but I knew that was a necessary evil when buying a new one/reformatting) and it would be awesome to transfer them. This incident didn't necessarily turn me off from homebrew, but I haven't pirated any software since (I'm up to 40 physical Wii games!!!!). But yeah, any help would be much appreciated, so thanks so much guys. :)

Wii bricked or broke?
I made a topic awhile back about taking apart my Wii but I went ahead and put it back together thinking it may not actually be overheated.
Basically awhile ago I left my Wii on as well as my xbox(they're right next to each other, or were) for about a day. I came back to my Wii game to see that it gave me some sort of disc read error. Later I tried to restart it but no game would read in the disc drive. That's where I thought it may have overheated. Eventually the Wii would not start correctly, and now it does not go past the Warning screen. Sometimes I get a black screen but I had it on a few moments ago and it faded when its idle like normal. This is where I'm not sure if the Wii is bricked or overheated.
All I'm hoping at this point is just maybe I can get my save data from the NAND drive somehow?

Semi brick? Have video, no audio.
Hi, I recently purchased a Wii that has video but no audio. This is a default formatted wii with 4.3u firmware. The system was not cared for well. Very dirty. So I took it apart to clean it and see if any wires were loose. Everything looks legit on the inside.
I've tried multiple TVs and cables with the same result.
From what I've read here it sounds like it may be a dirty softmod install.
Do you think running Mauifrog's softmod any wii guide will set this straight? Or is there anything else you can think of that might be the issue?

4.3U Wii is Bricked (Banner bricked i think)
After installing a bad .wad from crap I can no longer use my Wii. I also no longer have priiloader. Once I press A at the health screen there is a quick pause and then the screen just goes black. After searching around I decided to buy a wiikey fusion mod chip which i just installed today and also modded my GC controller. Temp. Probem: I was able to get into the recovery menu but I have a disc in the wii that the Wii will not eject. Big Problem: How can I unbrick my Wii? Any help is much appreciated

Oddly bricked, soft mod works fine, system files corrupted
EDIT: Pretty sure it's a mail brick, since I can still access maintenance mode. Don't see much about this, other than the fact that it's unusual. Any suggestions?

This is a modded Wii my brother had in his college dorm room that a lot of his roommates used, and one day he called me saying there was a 'system files corrupted' error. So I'm not sure what could have caused this. The 'system files corrupted' screens shows up right after the health and safety warning screen. Press A, and then the error screen shows up. It's a 4.3 Wii and initially installed HBC through Letterbomb.
Essentially, after following every single guide, I have HBC, Priiloader, Bootmii, everything working fine. I can still get in maintenance mode fine. I did everything, even downgraded the System Menu to 4.1 so I could use Bannerbomb instead of Letterbomb to install HBC again(Internet and naturally the Message Board are unavailable in maintenance mode).
I would really like to be able to access the System Menu screen, but I've tried everything at this point to fix it without formatting it completely using the NAND Formatter. I would like to avoid that if possible, since it honestly looks like Greek to me and the 'system files corrupted error' is the only problem. Does anyone have any recommendations on what could be the problem or if formatting it is my only option? Thanks in advance, I'm sorry for the long story.

Wii 4.3 Bricked?!
Hi my Wii is currently a LEH26 Wii I have PriiLoader installed with HBC and Bootmii installed as an ios and my wii version is 4.3e?
Could I do a backup? I backed up the NAND when I also had 4.3e but I didnt [COLOR=#009900 !important]install[/COLOR] PriiLoader?

Banner brick 4.2, Bad Wad
so i dont have priiloader(reset just resets with 1 blue blink) nor am i able to access bootmi 2 :/ GC controler didnt do anything, and recovery mode by holding + and - on the wii remote nothing either. (i just press on both of em when controler connects and is on health screen right? ) i used bootmi as iso before......so what i read autoboot discs, but no luck...and most autoboot/banner bricks are from like 2008-2010. i also read if u fill up your nand memory your wii forces you to go to channels to detele the "bad wad". but..how do you do that when you can get past H and Warning screen? then i read about savemii and other stuff. Im just looking for a working autoboot disc to remove this wad...or even a usb thing or something to get me past warning screen into mod manager

Can anyone recover my data?
So I softmodded my wii a while ago. Everything was fine for a long time and one day it just wouldn't turn on. No picture, completely blank. I have replaced the bluetooth module and the wifi module and it did not help at all. I did a really sloppy job taking it apart and I'm afraid I may have mangled some things. Anyway, I really just want my game saves and stuff off of the wii. Is there anyone with a nand reader that would be able to read my save data off the chip if I sent you the dismantled wii? How much would something like this cost? Is it even possible?
